SENIOR ENGINEER POSITION IN AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS

An immediate opening for a senior engineer with a background in computer programming and keen interest in developing software architectures associated with underwater autonomous systems. This multi-disciplinary area requires state-of-the art knowledge in the associated technologies, as well as, the ability to lead prototype development and in-water testing of such systems. Work is highly multidisciplinary, requiring skills from conceptual design to system testing. Seeking self-motivated candidate that is able to work well within small group setting or independently, as needed.

Desired Education and Experience
● MS/BS in Electrical, Computer Science, Ocean, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering

Knowledge of the following areas is highly desirable:
● Air, Ground, and/or water Autonomous Systems (vehicle dynamics, architecture, GNC)
● Embedded system design and system integration
● Programming (C++, ROS, OpenCV, MATLAB, Python )

Optional Skills
● Bayesian estimation techniques (Kalman filtering)
● Vision-based egomotion techniques (visual odometry, feature extraction)
● Flight/vehicle Testing
● Proposal Generation
● Program Management
● CAD (SolidWorks)

AEROSPACE / MECHANICAL SENIOR ENGINEER

An opening for an engineer with a background in aerospace/mechanical engineering, structural analysis, systems integration, and testing. Work is highly multidisciplinary, requiring skills from conceptual design to system testing. Seeking self-motivated candidate that is able to work well within small group setting or independently, as needed.

Working knowledge of the following is highly desirable:
● Aerospace (vehicle design and analysis)
● Structural Design (metallic and/or composites)
● Mechanical Engineering (mechanism design, prototyping, testing)

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - Printed and Flexible Hybrid Electronics

NextGen has immediate opening for an entry-level or senior engineer with background in circuit and PCB design and keen interest in developing sensor arrays with associated electronics on flexible substrates. This position is in a multidisciplinary area that requires state-of-the-art knowledge in the associated technologies and the ability to select outside sources and complete prototype development with fabrication companies as well as premier university engineering centers.

Knowledge of the following areas is highly desirable:
● Materials challenges for printed electronics
● Core printing and FHE technologies
● Integrating silicon electronics onto flexible substrates - commercially available thin dice level ICs to be bonded to flexible PI/PAT film/substrate
● Signal multiplexing/A-2-D/data acquisition wireless transmission, etc., functionalities integrated with printed sensor arrays
● Laminating films and components onto flexible substrates - alignments, cutting techniques, roll-to-roll, inspection, and adhesives choices
● Wearables and sensors

Optional Skills:
● Programming (C, C++, MATLAB, Visual Basic, JAVA, etc.)
● Program management and proposal writing skills are desirable but not mandatory.

Desired Education and Experience:
● BS or MS with self-motivated interest in Printed and Flexible Hybrid Electronics demonstrated by prototype systems development;
● OR ~3 years’ experience working on related R&D projects;
● OR PhD in related areas
